Gorilla baby boom in Bwindi

It has been a gorilla baby boom this month of May in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On 9th May 2022, an adult female “Kebirungi” of the Nshongi gorilla family gave birth to a bouncing healthy baby bringing a total number of individuals in the family in Bwindi’s Rushaga sector from 12 to 13 members.
On 16th May, another baby was born to the Christmas family by an adult female “Kiiza”. With this new birth, the number of the family grew to a total of 8.  Once more we would like to applaud the Uganda Wildlife Authority towards the great effort towards conservation in Uganda hence living by their motto “Conserving for generations”
