Great Lakes Safaris was started in 2001 by a young Ugandan with a big dream. Over 24 years later, we are one of the leading tour operators in Uganda and Rwanda and are steadily moving into Tanzania.  

The Great Lakes Region of Africa comprises 1 third of the world’s fresh water surface that include 7 main lake basins all spanning across most of East Africa and its great rift valley.  Our name, Great Lakes Safaris, originates from the fact that these lakes, and these areas, are some of the most beautiful areas the world has to offer and we want to share them with you.
