Sustainable eco-tourism award

Great Lakes CEO and founder Amos Wekesa has won a sustainable eco-tourism award this week for his outstanding contribution to wildlife conservation in Uganda. The award was given by the ministry of tourism, wildlife and antiquities, one of just 6 prestigious awards, at a ceremony at Kampala Serena Hotel on world wildlife day 3rd March. Great Lakes Safaris celebrates 20 years of operation in April and the preservation of wilderness and wildlife has always been at the heart of our organisation. Amos was recognised for his commitment to sustainable tourism practices, campaigning for conservation and general passion for all things tourism in Uganda.
